Sale for one Mocotaugan Crooked Knife (Right Handed Knifes
First introduced in Sheffield, England, crooked knives were sold by traders such as the Northwest Company as early as 1720. In North-eastern America, this style of tool was much used by the first nations of that region to fashion everything from canoe paddles to snowshoes also used in carving items ranging from baskets to bowls and spoons to canoes and totem poles, weapons etc, these knives are one of the handiest tools ever invented. Many were originally made from old files, with the tang inserted into a carved wooden handle and secured with tightly wrapped with raw hide, wire or sinew, rivets or pins.

Originally Knives made were custom foreign produced for Both the Native American and Buckskinner trade in the Old Days, than in the late 1700s the Custom American made Mocotaugan Crooked Knife was a common everyday Tool, these knives are one of the handiest tools ever invented.

Our Mocotaugan Crooked Knife Features Fancy Hand Carved Handles 5" long are made from Walnut Elm Cherry Maple and other HARDWOODS) with (PEWTER BOLSTERS) and (BRASS PINS). 9" in length with a (4" long High Carbon Steel Blade) that has partial carbon removed from both sides of the blade to ensure one side of the blade only to be sharpened with ease to ensure a MICRO EDGE.

All of my items are handmade & many of them are truly one of a kind which means that no two are exactly alike.

Because each one of my items are handcrafted one at a time, no two are 100% identical. I consider my items as art forms made in the centuries old ways which means there may be natural variations that one might consider a flaw but are actually inherent in the making of the piece, just as they were centuries ago. My items are created exactly as they were centuries ago. We might look at a piece from centuries ago may it be a drum, war club, knife, pipe, necklace, etc & think it's not perfect but actually it is, it's the hand crafted nature & techniques that the Native Americans used & which I use today with pride, skill & confidence.

Beautiful solid knife, fast delivery, great customer service!

Purchased as a gift for a woodcarver friend. The carving knife feels good in the hand. Beautiful, not flashy. If caring can be felt, I feel it in this piece. Thank you!

Solidly made, well-balanced mocotaugan. Ron obviously knows how to made a sturdy tool. Pleasantly surprised by the reclaimed Honduran mahogany (I believe) handle. It has more character than any knife I’ve seen in the past couple years. I’m a happy customer.

Overall not happy. Although Item seems to be made of quality materials and I was aware it would not be sharp when I received it,I cannot seem to put an edge on this. The handle is A bit too small for my average sized hand. Item description showed five items ready to be shipped. Yet it took over two weeks for a label to be created via USPS. Once shipped I receive it in less than 48 hours. -In summary, seller- seems like a nice guy that responds quickly. Good yet small handle. Blade Steele seem a bit …lack luster. Over priced? Or maybe I’m just cheap.
