Important - How to insert the stem into the pipe.

CAUTION - Never force the stem into the pipe hole.

The stem is designed to fit snugly, not tightly. Do not try and seat the shoulders of the stem up to the pipe bowl. If you force the stem into the barrel, you will likely break the pipestone.

Instead . . . Moisten the tapered insert end of the stem with your lips. Insert the stem into the pipe barrel and gently give it ¼ turn. This will give the stem a good hold on the inside of the barrel. The slight moisture will swell the stem insert slightly which results in a snug fit.

DO NOT TRY TO INSERT THE PIPE-STEM FULLY INTO THE CATLINITE PIPE YOU WILL DAMAGE THE PIPE. IF YOU BREAK THE PIPE YOU OWN IT NO RETURNS AND NO REFUND

If you treat a pipe with respect, it will last a long time.

We now offer this Plains Style pipe like the one's in the photos with a 6"+ long and it stands app 3-3/8″ tall. Plains Bowl Pipe and 18"+ Cedar Wooden leather beaded Pipe Stem. total length is 23-24" long.
Each pipe bowl is hand made and shaped to use the piece of catlinite to its best advantage. Some catlinite has lighter areas, striations, or spots (called "power spots"). These variations are considered special and even sacred by many. Because the pipes are made from natural stone,

These pipes are made of solid sacred catlinite The catlinite was mined from Pipestone National Monument in Pipestone Minnesota. The stone has been buffed and polished to a gloss with beeswax or Steatite Black Stone.
Each pipestone item is handmade from catlinite pipestone., which has naturally-occurring color variations and sometimes lighter areas called "power spots".The item you receive might have power spots or might vary slightly in color from the items pictured on this page.

THIS PIPE-STEM is tapered and not made to Insert into the pipe fully and do not forcefully insert in Pipe.

Moisten the end of the pipe lightly with your lips Insert Stem into Pipe with slight pressure just give it a quarter turn twist to attach and ready to smoke, plus you have option to make it fit for your personal liking.

The pipe is separated from the stem and traditionally wrapped in red cloth which represents the red road the good path and the Pipe Head itself is placed Separate Bag a Leather bag also the good path. The bundle then can be stored in your appropriate location.
